BXTA is pleased to announce the addition of two team members as part of its continued international expansion in mainland Europe and Australasia. This significant investment is the next step in our plan to establish BXTA as one of the leading providers of uro-oncology products and services.

The next stage in our strategic development in mainland Europe is to strengthen, in particular, our focus in uro-oncology. Given the increasing importance of the latter to BXTA and our associated desire to ensure we can provide exceptional service and support to our customers for all our LDR brachytherapy and PrecisionPoint prostate diagnostic products, we have now appointed a Commercial Director, Wilco van der Lugt, based in the Netherlands (Zoelen) to lead the next stage of our European growth .

Similarly, in Australia, Usman Nasir has joined the team as Clinical Applications Specialist to assist in supporting surgeons with the PrecisionPoint™Transperineal Access System for prostate cancer diagnostics. Usman joins us at an exciting time and will provide much needed support for the growth of PrecisionPoint across the Asia Pacific region.

Both Wilco and Usman have a depth of experience within healthcare.

Wilco is a qualified radiographer (Diagnostic and Radiotherapy) and worked for over 10 years in the Dutch Cancer Institute (Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital) in Amsterdam. After his time in the Dutch Cancer Institute, he has worked for several medical device companies such as Nucletron, Medtronic, Bioness and Atos Medical, providing an excellent grounding for him in cancer diagnostics and treatment and working closely with hospital oncology teams.

Similarly, with a background working as an ultrasound engineer whilst with GE Healthcare and from his time with Device Technologies supporting the Da Vinci Robot, Usman brings a wealth of experience and knowledge within urology.

Having more than 13 years of experience within the medical device field and a passion for new and emerging technologies within the industry, Usman will be responsible for training and supporting both new and existing healthcare professionals in using our innovative PrecisionPoint device.
