All Whites great Steve Sumner feeling positive after being given 30 per cent chance of beating prostate cancer
All Whites football great Steve Sumner is remaining positive about his prostate cancer battle after specialists told him he has a 30 per cent chance of beating the deadly disease. Sumner, who has been urging middle-aged men to get regular prostate cancer checks, said a CT scan early last week showed the cancer had not spread to his lymph nodes. A bone scan earlier this week also revealed no sign of cancer in his bones, but Sumner said his oncologist had confirmed he had “a very aggressive form that he called the lung cancer of prostate cancers”.
