BXTA Events Calendar – February to June 2023

At BXTA, we are off to a busy start to the new year already, with many exciting meetings and events planned for the first half of 2023. Please find a list below to find out where we are attending between now and June 2023:

Australian Brachytherapy Group (ABG) Conference:

The 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting, the Australian Brachytherapy Group (ABG) Conference, is taking place between the 9th and the 11th of February at the Manly Pacific Hotel in Sydney. The ABG Conference plays an integral part in bringing together passionate and dedicated brachytherapy practitioners. After two years of virtual meetings, BXTA is excited to be exhibiting at the event face-to-face, with our Australasia Commercial Director, Nicola Leavold, in attendance. USANZ 2023 ASM:

The USANZ 2023 ASM takes place later this month between the 25th to the 28th of February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, in the heart of Melbourne CBD, which will cover the entirety of prostate cancer, from early detection to castration-resistant disease. The scientific programme features world leading international and local experts from the US, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, providing the opportunity to showcase the latest research, debate controversial issues and share techniques and tips for best practice. BXTA’s Australasia Commercial Director, Nicola Leavold, will be attending, and will be exhibiting the PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System, which is revolutionising the methodology for obtaining prostate biopsies. PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System Training Day:

Run by the Bristol Urological Institute, BXTA will be both sponsoring and presenting at the PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System Training Day, which takes place on Monday 6th March at the Bristol Urological Institute, Southmead Hospital. The full day course will include viewing live cases and phantom work, whilst covering a variety of topics, such as:

EAU23:

EAU23 – The 38th Annual EAU Congress, takes place between the 10th and 13th of March in Milan. The four-day scientific programme includes live surgery, state-of-the-art lectures, case discussions and debates. Thousands of abstracts are submitted each year by emerging scientists and the EAU offers hundreds of them a chance to present their research. The Annual Congress is also an opportunity for young urologists to attend educational courses by the European School of Urology, and to hone their surgical skills through a variety of hands-on-training workshops.

EAU23 will feature a vast exhibition where pharmaceutical and technology companies can showcase their latest products. BXTA is exhibiting not only the PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System, but also MRI Pro, which is a new online prostate MRI self-learning tool at Stand Number J40. EAUN:
In addition to EAU23 above, BXTA will also be attending the 23rd International EAUN meeting, on behalf of the European Association of Urology Nurses, between the 11th and 13th of March in Milan.

Following the successful meeting in Amsterdam this year, we are looking forward to attending and taking part in the exciting and informative three-day scientific programme, which is expected to cover all of the latest developments in urology nursing. With three plenary sessions, nine state-of-the-art lectures, twelve thematic sessions, and two courses by the European School of Urology, the annual EAUN Meeting has a packed scientific programme again. South Thames Meeting for Urology Consultants and Registrars:

On the 16th of March at Frimley Hall Hotel, BXTA will be attending and exhibiting at the South Thames Meeting for Urology Consultants and Registrar. This follows the success of the last face-to-face South Thames (London South and KSS) regional meeting at the Tate Modern, hosted by Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust – which was the first in-person meeting since October 2019. At this meeting, it is expected that over eighty urologists and trainees will attend from across the region, and we are excited to speak to them about the PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System. USANZ Conference:

Taking place between the 22nd to the 24th of March, BXTA are looking forward to attending the USANZ Conference 2023, taking place at TSB Showplace, New Plymouth in Taranaki, New Zealand. Hosted by the New Zealand Urological Nurses Society and the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, there is an exciting programme planned over the few days, with a number of different sessions being held by various international keynote speakers. PrecisionPoint Transperineal Access System Course:

On the 24th of March at Guy’s Hospital in London, BXTA will be hosting a PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System Course. We look forward to educating those in the field about the PrecisionPoint™ device that enables local anaesthetic transperineal prostate biopsies (LATP) to take place, eradicating the use of TRUS biopsies (transrectal). Not only does it take full advantage of the transperineal path, decreasing risk of infections, it allows for more thorough sampling of all regions of the prostate including those difficult to access with the transrectal approach.

Eifeler Urolog:innen Tag

On the 1st of April in Germany, BXTA will be attending and exhibiting at Eifeler Urolog:innen Tag, which is an event set to discuss relevant updates in the field of urology. We look forward to showcasing the PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System and discussing LA TP biopsies, which allows for more thorough sampling of all regions of the prostate – including those difficult to access with the transrectal approach. Our Application Manager, Norbert Paulus, will be in attendance.

BXTA are also attending an additional training session at the Steinfeld Monastery in the Eifel, where six speakers will report on the main clinical pictures and current topics in urology in overview lectures.

Southwest Urology 2023 Annual Meeting

Held at Darlington Hall between the 25th and 26th of April, BXTA will be attending and exhibiting at the Southwest Urology 2023 Annual Meeting, with John Alden, our Commercial Director for Northern Europe, in attendance. The title of the 2023 Meeting is ‘What it costs…and what’s the cost?’ with the aim to explore:

Meeting 49 of the Austrian Society for Urology and the Bavarian Urological Association

Between the 4th to the 6th of May at the Design Center, Linz, Austria, the Bavarian Urological Association and the Austrian Society for Urology have partnered together to host the 49th Conference. With a programme covering all areas of urology, and a presentation of the latest findings from clinical practice and science, we look forward to both attending and exhibiting. ESU-ESUI Masterclass on Prostate Biopsy

This is the first physical edition of the ESU-ESUI Masterclass on Prostate Biopsy, which will take place in the Institute Paoli-Calmettes, in Marseille, France between the 11th to the 12th of May 2023. This masterclass aims to deliver vital updates on how to perform prostate biopsy and achieve optimal results, with in-depth coverage of the technical potential and limitations of prostate biopsy and MRI imaging. BXTA will be exhibiting the PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System, which provides improved accuracy and convenience for the prostate biopsy. The Cambridge Prostate MRI and Biopsy Course:

Based in Stockholm, Sweden, on the 26th of May, the Cambridge Prostate MRI & Biopsy Course will be taking place. Following the overwhelming response and participation the course has received in previous years, the organising committee has decided to extend the knowledge shared in a smaller one-day programme, aiming to bring together medical practitioners who care passionately for challenging scientific and clinical issues that relate to radiology & urology. John Alden, our Commercial Director for Northern Europe will attend as an exhibitor on behalf of BXTA, where he will discuss the PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System in more detail. PrecisionPoint Transperineal Access System Course

On the 26th of May at Guy’s Hospital in London, BXTA will be hosting a PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System Course. BAUS 2023 Annual Scientific Meeting

Based at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham between the 19th to the 21st of June, BAUS returns for the 78th year running – which is run by the British Association of Urological Surgeons. BXTA looks forward to exhibiting on Stand 322, where we will be discussing both PrecisionPoint™ Transperineal Access System and LDR-Brachytherapie –  which is a targeted form of internal radiotherapy for prostate cancer and an effective, minimally invasive treatment appropriate for many men.
